Itinerary
DAY 1
By Land to Gomantong Cave / Menaggul River Cruise
Meet at Sandakan airport via MH 2042(ETA 0810hrs) or 0900hrs Pick up from Sandakan Hotel and depart overland to Gomantong Birdnest Caves. Upon arrival, 15 minutes walk on the plank walk to the cave. Explore the largest bird's nest cave in Sabah, home to millions of Bats and swiflets. The nest of the swiflets are collected for the famous Chinese edible bird nest soup.
Continue journey to Sukau which will passing by Oil Palm Plantations and villages. Check in Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge and lunch provided. Late in the afternoon, take a boat cruise with electric motor to the famous of Menanggul River in search for Proboscis Monkeys, different species of birds and others wildlife. Return Lodge for dinner. Video Show. Overnight at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. (Lunch/Dinner)
DAY 2
By land to Sepilok/ Temple
Wake up by the calls of gibbons and hornbills, after breakfast, 0700 depart overland to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. At this center, observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo.
1000hrs witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at the feeding platform, drive up hill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay before lunch at local restaurant or hotel. After lunch, proceed to airport for your flight MH 2709 (ETD1415hrs) or your hotel. (Breakfast / Lunch)
